Photo on 'Conflict'
This is my photo I took for the subject of Conflict, to set this picture up i first had to get two beakers of water and colour them with food colouring. I then dropped a drop of the red mixture into the blue, whilst taking a picture, I had to use a fast shutter speed to capture the split second moment. The lighting in the room was good, so my aperture could be left on auto.
For me there are two different aspects to the theme of conflict in this picture, the first is the colours. The red and the blue contrast, they create conflict because of the connotations of the two, the blue connotes cold, ice, its generally quite chilling, the red however is juxtaposing this with its connotations of heat, fire and passion. This divide between the colours is then emphasised by the fact that the red looks as though its pulling away from the blue, as if its repelling.
To improve on this if i was to do it again I would attempt to get the drop first time, because as you can see this wasn't my first attempt the red waters started to disperse into the blue water.
